It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Brother Ronald Nabors has laid down the working tools of life and been called to that celestial Lodge above.
Ronald G. Nabors, 93 of Arab passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Diversicare of Arab. Ronald was born February 20, 1928, in Union Grove the son of Judson D. Nabors and Mamie Graves Nabors. He was a graduate of Arab High School Class of 1947 and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He attended Jacksonville State University receiving his bachelor’s degree in education in 1954, went on to receive his master’s degree from Peabody University in 1957. He was principal for 8 years at the Midway School and retired from Arab High School after teaching 26 years. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time on the farm gardening, raising cattle and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his Daughter: Sheila (Wayne) Mahathey; Granddaughter: Cecillia (Jonathan) Smith; Great Grandson: Judson Wayne “Jud” Smith; Sisters: Ann Watson and Gaynell Waldrop; Brothers: Max Nabors and Frank Nabors. Host of Nieces, Nephews, other family and many dear friends.
Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the Sweet Home Cemetery with Matt Jordan officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday at Gober Funeral Chapel. The family is receiving flowers, or you can make a contribution to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.
